Through a live 3D Printing demo, Victor Portes gave an overview on how 3D Printinmg will impact the Fashion, Retail & Culture Markets in the areas of: Brand Expression & Merchandizing, Product Innovation & Brand Authenticity Prototyping & Zero- Lead Time, Intellectual Property (IP), Education Employment 
and the Environment. 

 

The Inspiring Lecture at this 2014 Summer edition of Modefabriek had a great audience! RECAP Fashion Seminar Week @ Erasmus Paviljoen Rotterdam

 

Fashion Seminar Week is a collaboration of fashion and business. For the first time, Erasmus Paviljoen hosted International fashion companies, business entrepreneurs and designers in a red carpet style spectacular from
9 May to 23rd May 2014.

 

The Fashion Seminar Week supports entrepreneurship in the fashion industry and provides fashion companies to reach out to students and public. Guests had the opportunity to experience and ask questions to experts involved in the fashion industry. The event will hosted guests speakers Nederland Fashion Week, Dutch Catwalk Innovation Platform & Consultancy, Mode Muze amongst others.

 

Dutch Catwalk focused its 2 Day Workshop on 3D Printing Business Solutions. Touching on subjects such as:
3D Printing  History, Trends, POP Culture, Designer & Brands, Product Innovation, Education a Intellectual Property and Employment.

RECAP Fashion in Business @ HET NATIONAAL MODECONGRES 2014

 

On Thursday the 27th of March, members of the Fashion in Business network and special guests were invited to ´het Nationaal Modecongres´ in the city hall in Arnhem. The congress was an inspiring programme that addressed all kinds of cutting edge topics which are currently very popular within the fashion industry. Within the theme ´crossing boarders´, the congress organized a diverse programme with several presentations and break-out sessions.

 

FashionWeek Nederland participated by organizing a break-out session in collaboration with Dutch Catwalk, Landré and 3D solutions. Janne Kyttanen, creative director of 3D solutions, was the key-note speaker and talked about 3D printing business solutions within the fashion industry and gave examples from a case study about denim. To illustrate the wonderful developments that have been made in this area, there was a live 3D printing demo area at the congress. In this area, everybody could witness how the technology works and what kind of diverse products can be made with it.

 

Fashion in Business also was one of the hosts of the Grand Seigneur award, the most prestigious award in the fashion industry. Jan Taminiau was this years’ recipient and felt extremely honored to be given such a great recognition for his work. To celebrate this festive moment, all the guests stayed for a drink, sponsored by Grand Marnier.

 

It was a great event that showed a lot of innovative developments within the industry, brought together many creative minds and proved that Dutch fashion can also be found in cities outside of Amsterdam.
